Effect of corona discharge on cadmium sulphide and lead sulphide films

This paper describes the effect of corona discharge on cadmium sulphide (CdS) and lead sulphide (PbS) films prepared using the chemical route. The property of films before and after exposure to corona has been described in detail. The electronic properties of the CdS and PbS films have been studied by current-voltage (I-V), capacitance-voltage (C-V) measurements. The structural properties and surface morphology were studied by using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy before and after exposing to Corona discharge. The films displayed the change in surface morphology after exposure to the corona discharge. It has been found that the films showed an increase in resistivity after exposure. This change in property has been attributed to modification in surface states. Time-dependent recovery indicated that room temperature annealing is sufficient to regain the normal resistivity of the films. The experiment was carried with the aim of studying the effect of the interaction of corona discharge on the semiconductor films and its subsequent effects.     

Synthesis of conformationally restricted C2 symmetric macrodiolides via head to tail dimerization of carbonyl ylides

Tandem reaction of α-diazocarbonyl compounds in the presence of rhodium(II) acetate catalyst is described to furnish a range of conformationally restricted C₂ symmetric macrodiolides via head to tail dimerization of intramolecular carbonyl ylides.     

Nickel sulphide-reduced graphene oxide composites as counter electrode for dye-sensitized solar cells: Influence of nickel chloride concentration

Nickel sulphide-reduced graphene oxide (NiS-rGO) composite films have been prepared via modified Hummers’s method assisted with spin coating technique. The NiS-rGO samples were then employed as counter electrode in a dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC). The main aim of this work is to investigate the relationship between the concentrations of NiCl₂ with the properties of NiS-rGO and performance parameters of the device. The dominant rGO and minor NiS phase exist in the composite. The morphology of the composite is white strips rGO and NiS agglomerate particle. The element of C, O, Ni and S present in the composite. The highest η of 1.04% and J_sc of 7.39 mA cm⁻² were obtained from the device with 0.06 M NiCl₂ resulted from the longest carrier lifetime. The photovoltaic parameters results reveal that NiS-rGO composite has potential to become as a free platinum counter electrode of DSSC.     

OCS分子在128 nm附近的光解动力学研究：S(3PJ=2,1,0)、S(1D2)以及S(1S0)产物通道

本文利用时间切片离子成像技术对OCS分子进行了真空紫外波段的光解动力学研究. 在四个光解光波长(从129.32到126.08 nm)下测量了硫原子解离产物S(³P_J=2,1,0)、S(¹D₂)、S(¹S₀)的速度影像，并从中清晰地发现了四个主要的解离产物通道：S(³P_J=2,1,0)+CO(X¹Σ⁺)，S(³P_J=2,1,0)+CO(A³π)，S(¹D₂)+CO(X¹Σ⁺)和S(¹S₀)+CO(X¹Σ⁺). 在实验影像中，产物CO分子的部分振动态结构能够得到分辨. 实验还获取解离产物总平动能谱，产物分支比和角分布. 对实验结果进行分析显示除绝热解离通道S(³P_J=2,1,0)+CO(A³π)之外，在其他三个产物通道中非绝热效应都起到非常重要的作用.     

Microwave-Assisted Chemoselective Regeneration of Carbonyl Compounds from Oximes by Silica Chromate/WET SiO2 Under Solvent-Free Conditions

The regeneration of carbonyl compounds from oximes were performed by using silica chromate and wet SiO ₂ (w/w 50%) under microwave irradiation and solvent-free conditions with excellent yields.     

NEW APPROACHES TO THE SYNTHESIS OF ORGANOPHOSPHORUS COMPOUNDS

Abstract

The past two decades have brought us a snowballing development of organophosphorus chemistry. Indeed organophosphorus compounds have found wide practical application (in agriculture, petroleum industry, as drugs, etc.) and continue to afford promising objects for the study of theoretical matters such as tautomerism, ambiphilicity, ambidenticity, and other problems of organic chemistry. On the other hand, however impressive this progress may be, the search for new methods of synthesis, improving the known methods and forecasting new types of organophosphorus compounds remain as challenging problems as before.     

A Convenient Method for Dethioacetalization of 1,3-Dithiolanes and 1,3-Dithianes Using Benzyltriphenylphosphonium Peroxymonosulfate in Aprotic Solvent

Benzyltriphenylphosphonium peroxymonosulfate in the presence of bismuth chloride was found to be an efficient and mild reagent for the dethioacetalization of 1,3-dithiolanes and 1,3-dithianes to the corresponding carbonyl compounds under aprotic conditions.     

ZEOLITE-SUPPORTED CHROMIUM(VI) OXIDE: A MILD,EFFICIENT, AND INEXPENSIVE REAGENT FOR OXIDATIVE DEPROTECTION OF TRIMETHYLSILYL ETHERS UNDER MICROWAVE IRRADIATION

Primary and secondary trimethylsilyl ethers are effeciently converted to the corresponding carbonyl compounds using HZSM-5 zeolite-supported CrO ₃ under microwave irradiation in solventless system.     

NaBH4/DOWEX(R)50WX4: A Convenient Reducing System for Fast and Efficient Reduction of Carbonyl Compounds to Their Corresponding Alcohols

The reduction of a variety of carbonyl compounds was efficiently carried out with NaBH₄/DOWEX(R)50WX4 system. The reactions were performed to give the corresponding alcohols derivatives in perfect yields in THF at room temperature. Reduction of acyloins and a‐diketones by this reducing system produced efficiently the corresponding vicinal diols. Also, the reduction of aldehydes over ketones has been accomplished successfully by this system. Regioselectivity of this system was also investigated with exclusive 1,2‐reduction of conjugated carbonyl compounds to their corresponding allylic alcohols in high to excellent yields.     

Synthesis Of 2-Acyltetrahydro-β-Carbolines By An Intramolecular α-Amidoalkylation Reaction

2-Acyltetrahydro-β-carbolines 7 have been obtained by cyclization of adducts 5 from imines 3 of tryptamine 1 and aldehydes 2 with acyl chlorides 4 as a result of an intramolecular a-amidoalkylation reaction in the presence of bases as N,N-dimethylaniline or Et₃N.
